La comparsa Contrabandistas fue fundada antes del año 1923.

Los contrabandistas aparecen en la historia de España a partir del S.XIX relacionado con la Guerra de Independencia pero tradicionalmente este grupo se adhiere a las fiestas de Moros y Cristianos. En Alcoy es la comparsa más antigua.

Esta comparsa se puede distingui por su traje oficial formado por pantalón rojo, camis blanca. chaqueta negra con bordados, pañuelo rojo y gorro.

El símbolo de su banderín es una herradura y un arcabuz cruzado por una navaja.

El año pasado ostentaron la Capitania Cristiana y este año esperan disfrutar lo máximo posible de las fiestas.

The "comparsa" Contrabandistas was born before 1923. The "Contrabandistas" (smugglers, thieves who lives in the mountains) appear in Spain in the 19 Century during the Independence War, but as a tradition are in the Moors and Christian Festival (that represent the confrontation between boths sides in the XVI Century). Is the oldest comparsa in Alcoy.

This group can be distinguish by their red pants, white shirt, black jacket with embroideries, headscarf, and hat.

The simbol that you can see in their flag is a horseshoe, an "aracabuz" (shotgun), and a jack knife.

Last year they represent all the Christian Side and this year they are going to have fun enjoying this Festival.
